Cost to Attend the MSFL Annual Event
There are countless volunteers to keep our costs as low as possible. Still, almost everyone pays to attend the MSFL Annual Event. The cost depends on your choices of lodging, meals, and equipment rental. Partial scholarships may be available for those in need, depending on donations that MSFL receives in any given year.
The 2025 cost structure is as follows:
Room Type (cost noted is for the whole weekend)
- RAM Center Standard Double Room with RAM Meals - $185
- RAM Center Standard Single Room with RAM Meals - $210
- Westminster Room & Meals (Non-College Guides) - $65 (Requires special permission)
- No Room, Include RAM Meals - $95 (includes mandatory insurance and membership)
- No Room, No Meals - $25 (mandatory for insurance and membership)
Registration Deadline is December 30, 2025. Registrations received after this date, if we are able to accommodate them, will be charged an additional $25 fee.
RAM center accommodations are in shared, heated cabins. Each cabin has a community restroom with numerous stalls, showers, and sinks. There is also a lounge area with chairs, a couch, a dining table, and a mini-kitchen. These cabins are a short walk to the dining hall and main gathering area for MSFL events.
Westminster rooms are a low-cost alternative lodging choice intended for college guides and the MSFL coordinator. The camp is about 1/2 mile from the RAM center. Up to 30 college guides share one large room for lodging and bring their own sleeping bag and pillow. The coordinator ensures everyone is well-fed and ready for their important activities. If you attend college and would like to be an MSFL guide, this is a nice option for you!
Cross-country ski rental (includes skis, boots, and poles) - $55
If you don't have your own equipment and require a rental, MSFL has a convenient rental option for you. All equipment is delivered to the RAM center for pick-up at the opening ceremony and the guide/skier pairing event on Friday night. Please deliver your equipment back to the RAM center as soon as possible after your final ski event on Sunday.
Transportation - $25
If you need transportation to and from the RAM center, our registration coordinator can help make that happen. To the extent possible, she'll connect with participants who live in similar areas for ride-sharing.

Scholarship Applications
If you are visual- or mobility-impaired and desire to attend the MSFL event but cannot afford to do so, please consider applying for a scholarship. The board reviews all applications submitted in a given year. Criteria include the funds available for scholarships, participant need, prior scholarships received, any amount the participant can provide on their own, eagerness to participate in skiing and outdoor activities at MSFL, and other factors.
